What the starting fare does—and does not—tell you
Check whether the price assumes two people sharing, the cabin category and deck, and whether taxes or service charges are added later. A single captured price is one observation; it is not evidence that every sailing costs the same. Historical observations in this table can include departures that have already passed.
Build a complete trip budget
Alongside accommodation and meals, confirm drinks, included excursions, optional trips, transfers and gratuities. These vary by seller and package. Ask for the total in writing before comparing offers. For solo travel, ask for the single-occupancy price; for families, request a quote for the exact ages and sleeping arrangements.
Does a higher deck justify the upgrade?
Compare the actual cabin and benefits, not only the deck number. Check balcony type, lift access, distance from public areas, restaurant privileges and the extra charge. The outdoor decks also provide viewing opportunities, so a higher room is not the only way to see the gorges.
Compare the whole journey
Divide a verified total by the number of nights only when the same inclusions and occupancy apply. Keep extended Wuhan and Shanghai voyages separate from classic Chongqing–Yichang journeys.
